Date: August 25 Place: Room 5234 (oral), Room 6310 (poster) Organizers: Norio Sahashi, Jae-Won Oh, Carmen Galán & Teiji Kondo Contact email address: [email protected] Purpose: 1. Clarify correlation with annual change and the seasonal variation of the allergenic pollen and spore, and the climate factors. 2. Compare the latest scattering tendency in the different location, and the characteristic scattering pattern by the area exists or not. 3. Explore the compatibility from comparison of the scattering pattern by the gravitational method and the volumetric one. 4. Verify correlation by hourly scattering pattern by automatic monitoring device and climate factor

Plant Responses to Climate Change: The Case Study of Betulaceae and Poaceae Pollen Seasons (Northern Italy, Vignola, Emilia-Romagna)

Aerobiological data have especially demonstrated that there is correlation between climate warming and the pollination season of plants. This paper focuses on airborne pollen monitoring of Betulaceae and Poaceae, two of the main plant groups with anemophilous pollen and allergenic proprieties in Northern Italy. The aim is to investigate plant responses to temperature variations by considering l...

The impacts of climate change and meteorological factors on pollen season indicators of allergenic plant taxa

Pollen respiratory allergies have been increasing in prevalence over the last two decades, partly as the result of the impact of climate change. For many allergenic trees, grass and weed species, increased pollen production and prolonged pollination period result in long-term increased abundance of pollen allergens in the atmosphere; earlier shifts of airborne pollen grains and prolonged exposu...

The patterns of Corylus and Alnus pollen seasons and pollination periods in two Polish cities located in different climatic regions

This study compares phenological observations of Corylus (hazel) and Alnus (alder) flowering with airborne pollen counts of these taxa recorded using volumetric spore traps (2009-2011). The work was carried out in the Polish cities of Szczecin and Rzeszów that are located in different climatic regions. Correlations between pollen concentrations and meteorological data were investigated using Sp...

Allergenic pollen season variations in the past two decades under changing climate in the United States.

Many diseases are linked with climate trends and variations. In particular, climate change is expected to alter the spatiotemporal dynamics of allergenic airborne pollen and potentially increase occurrence of allergic airway disease. Understanding the spatiotemporal patterns of changes in pollen season timing and levels is thus important in assessing climate impacts on aerobiology and allergy c...

Aeromycological analysis of allergenic airborne fungi in Qazvin, Iran

Background and Purpose: Airborne fungi are one of the most important agents responsible for triggering allergic reactions such as rhinitis and severe asthma. This study was conducted to analyze and monitor the prevalence and distribution patterns of atmospheric fungal aerosols in the air of Qazvin during winter of 2012. Materials and Methods: In the current descriptive study, the incidence ...
